School Closing and Alternate Schedule Information

Pulaski County Schools Winter Weather Plans
Posted on 11/13/2018
It is that time of year again when we must start keeping an eye on the weather for the possibility of snow.  Will we have school?  What happens if it snows while school is in session?  Pulaski County has plans and procedures in place on how to address snow or emergency days.  You can find the information about school closing and alternate schedules by visiting the transportation "Winter Weather" page located within the For Parents section of the website.

SCHOOL CLOSED

When an announcement is made that there will be no school in the Pulaski County School System, ALL schools will be closed.

Information will be given to the media sources listed and relayed through various other technology sources.  School offices and administrators will not have any information other than what is broadcast over these media outlets.

PLAN “B” – MAIN ROAD OR SAFE ROAD ONLY PICK UP

Buses will not travel snow covered or icy secondary roads.  Bus drivers will tell students where they will be picked up and dropped off when Plan B is in effect.  Most often, those pick up/drop off points will be the nearest CLEAR main road.  Parents are responsible to get students to the planned pick up location and to be waiting at the drop off point at the end of the school day.

If Plan “B” is called in the morning, it will remain in effect the entire day.

EARLY DISMISSAL

Should weather conditions begin to deteriorate during the day or there is another emergency, school may be dismissed early.  Children will be dropped off at the regular bus stop as conditions permit.  If special arrangements are necessary, parents should contact the school.

#ILEARNPULASKI DAY

Should any day be considered an“iLearnPulaski Day”, Superintendent, Patrick Richardson, will make the announcement.  Students will be expected to complete the assignment as indicated for that day.  Teachers will be available via email or by phone for questions.
