Once again, Pulaski County Schools will be utilizing #iLearnPulaski Days to allow instruction to occur at home when school has been cancelled. All students should bring home information and assignments on December 1st. #iLearnPulaski Days will count as instructional days and will not have to be made up at the end of the year, if a high percentage of our students complete and submit assignments.

The award recognizes staff members who have demonstrated innovative techniques and strategies that support student success and welfare.
Record Breaking Year in Feud for Food

Pulaski County finished their annual Feud for Food Drive collecting a total of 65,729 food items that will distributed to area food banks, organizations, and churches. This is a record breaking year for PC Schools. The South Schools beat the North Schools by 27,727 items.

Pulaski County Schools, over the years, has collected 1,320,418 food items for donation to various organizations throughout our community. Won't you help us reach the 2,000,000 mark? The NORTH and SOUTH schools' competition for the coveted Compassion Cup begins Thursday, November 3rd and ends on Friday, November 18th. Food items support local agencies such as God's Food Pantry, Family and Youth Service Center food baskets, and local church food baskets and pantries.
Pulaski County Schools: Distinguished District for 5th Year

The recent release of the state assessment scores finds the Pulaski County School System continuing to achieve at the highest levels. The county school system remains a Distinguished District according to this week’s release of Kentucky’s assessment scores. This has earned the Pulaski County School System the highest level under Kentucky’s Unbridled Learning system five years running. “To be where we are doesn’t come by accident. It takes a lot of focus and a lot of work from everyone at all levels. Being one of the top districts five years running is a very high standard to maintain,” said Superintendent Steve Butcher. “This continues to validate that our resources and efforts have been in the right places.”
Ribbon Cutting at Northern Elementary School Outdoor Classroom

Northern Elementary School officially opened their new outdoor learning center by hosting a ribbon cutting and short ceremony to thank the donors who made the outdoor structure possible. The outdoor learning center was a multi-year project sponsored by the school's parent teacher organization (PTO).
PCHS Archery Competes at World Tournament

The Pulaski County High School archery team, comprised of students from Northern Middle, Pulaski High and Shopville Elementary, competed at the World Archery Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The team returned to Pulaski County with a third place overall trophy. Congratulations!
Rebecca French: Outstanding New Career and Technical Teacher

Meet Rebecca French, the KACTE Outstanding New Career and Technical Teacher of the Year. Rebecca is an agriculture educator and has finished her third year of teaching at Southwestern High School in Pulaski County. Rebecca has adopted the following quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that describes her thoughts on education: “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character -- that is the goal of true education.”

Gov. Bevin announces KY Dual Credit Scholarship Program

Pulaski County students traveled to Russell Springs, KY on June 1, 2016 to hear directly from Gov. Matt Bevin about the Dual Credit Scholarship Program available to 2016-17 seniors. The Kentucky General Assembly allocated $15 million for dual credit scholarships to be spent in the 2016-2018 biennium through a program to be administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

Summer Feeding Program 2016

The Pulaski County Board of Education will sponsor the Summer Feeding Program in the Pulaski County from May 23rd through July 31st. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under free of charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
