The purpose of the Pulaski County School System Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor the rich heritage of academic and athletic contributions made by those who have attended or had long term associations with the Pulaski County School System. SWHS Student Awarded Semifinalist in Essay Contest

Each spring, the Ayn Rand Institute holds an essay contest inviting students across the world to write thought-provoking essays in response to some of the late author’s novels. For several years now, Honors English II Students at Southwestern High School have been reading one of Ayn Rand’s most famous novels, Anthem, which has provided students with multiple opportunities for in-depth and insightful discussions and assignments in subjects such as government, ethics, equity vs. equality, free-will, and love.   read more about SWHS Student Awarded Semifinalist in Essay Contest

Lexington KY, June 14th – July 15th, 2017 Meredith Oakes of Pulaski County High School attended a highly competitive and very strenuous four and half week academic residential program at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Mr. Bill White has been appointed by Commissioner Pruitt to fill the vacated board seat of Precinct IV of the Pulaski County Educational Division. He will serve an interim term until the 2018 general election. Mr. White is no stranger to Pulaski County Schools. He was board member for two consecutive terms from 2003 through 2010.
